this is definitely not your fault. Basically Xiaomi/Aqara IS NOT following the Zigbee standard with this devices. Furthermore this devices are NOT certified by the Zigbee Alliance.
Also the included batteries are not very good. It seems that Xiaomi/Aqara wants to save money and fool the customer.
